About

Emily is an award-winning classical guitarist based in Perth, Australia. In 2025, she won the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Altamira Guitar Competition and was a finalist in the prestigious Adelaide International Classical Guitar Competition and the UWA Vose Concerto Competition. She is the recipient of several other major awards, including the UWA Ewen Prize for Music, the AMEB AJ Leckie Award for Best Associate Diploma, and the AMEB Best Certificate of Performance, as well as multiple first-place finishes in local classical guitar competitions. Emily was also a 2025 Wesley Scholar. 

Emily has performed extensively across Western Australia and North America. Highlights include a featured solo performance at the Azrieli Music Prize’s “Meet the Laureates” event in Montreal, “Wesley at One” recitals in 2025 and 2026, performance at Musica Viva’s 80th birthday event, and multiple appearances as a guest artist with the Perth Guitar Quartet, including a studio recording and concerts on the Perth International Classical Guitar Festival and Grove Classics Concert Series. She has also toured regional WA with the UWA Guitar Studio. In 2025, she co-founded Emra Duo with UWA guitarist Joscelyn Leahy, and the ensemble has since performed at numerous events and concerts throughout Perth.

She is currently a fourth-year student at the UWA Conservatorium of Music, where she studies under Dr. Jonathan Fitzgerald. In 2024, she completed an exchange semester at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where she studied with internationally renowned guitarist Jérôme Ducharme. She began her guitar studies at age nine with Sam Thomson and later continued under Craig Lake and Dr. Melissa Fitzgerald. Throughout her development, she has participated in masterclasses with many esteemed international artists, including Craig Ogden, Vladimir Gorbach, Petra Poláčková, Colin Davin, and Pavel Ralev.
